BakPac Achieves AA Grade in 2025 BRCGS Packaging Materials Audit
BakPac is delighted to announce that following our 6th annual BRCGS for Packaging Materials audit on 19–20 November 2025, we have again achieved a prestigious AA grade. This year’s audit was especially significant as it marked our first inspection at full capacity, following the installation of all five pouch machines now in regular operation.
It was also our first audit assessed against the updated BRCGS Packaging Materials Issue 7, making this achievement an even stronger endorsement of our commitment to product safety and quality. It’s a testament to our commitment to exceptional quality, hygiene and consistency within every part of our operation.
Positive Feedback From the Auditor
The auditor delivered highly encouraging feedback, noting:
-
the excellent cleanliness of the site
-
the strong condition and maintenance of equipment
-
our excellent quality management system
-
confidence that BakPac would comfortably pass next year’s unannounced audit
-
and on a lighter note, her appreciation for the BakPac document colour scheme!
The audit reported only three minor non-conformances, demonstrating the robustness of our systems and the dedication of our team.
Continuous Investment Strengthening Our Capability
2025 has been a year of significant development at BakPac. To support our growing customer base and maintain high standards as demand increases, we have:
- installed three new pouch machines
- added one additional slitter
- welcomed 15 new members of staff
While staff numbers do not affect the certification outcome directly, expanding our workforce ensures that product safety, quality standards and process control remain strong as the business scales.
First Audit at Full Production Capacity
Although B2 was included in last year’s certification scope, this audit was our first conducted with our full suite of pouch machines operational, representing a meaningful milestone in our evolution.
The successful result demonstrates that our systems, training, documentation and quality culture have scaled effectively alongside production capability.
What Our AA Grade Means for Customers
Achieving an AA grade, particularly under the new Issue 7 standard, reinforces that BakPac:
-
maintains industry-leading hygiene and quality standards
-
operates a highly effective BRCGS system with strong internal governance
-
continues to invest in people, processes and equipment to support growth
-
provides safe, compliant and reliable packaging, every time
This certification gives customers, suppliers and partners complete confidence that our products are manufactured to the highest possible standards.
“This was our sixth BRCGS audit, and we are now well past the early growing pains. The business has continued to expand year-on-year, and the strength of our team and equipment from our year-one audit to now, shows remarkable development. As we continue into 2026, our Managing Director and management team recognise that without our commitment to the requirements of BRCGS, and the certification that this hard work has earned us, our accomplishments would not have been possible. We therefore remain committed to reviewing, revising and improving our product safety and quality culture wherever we can.”
Our Commitment Moving Forward
As the flexible packaging industry continues to evolve, BakPac is committed to staying at the forefront- investing in people, equipment, processes and sustainability to ensure we always meet and exceed customer expectations.
Our 2025 audit result reinforces our dedication to producing flexible packaging of the highest quality, backed by systems and standards our customers can trust.
